I am interested in getting a new viking drysuit and I happened upon some information about them.

The article which is at Techspectacular.com - Diving & Oceanic » Drysuits: Keeping Ice Out of Your Shorts by Peter Fleck and Ron Scarpa mentiones "Look for Mauser seams (a seam with half-inch tape over it, very similar to the kind used on most barefoot suits). The seams are what make or literally break a drysuit. Mauser generally lasts longest and prevents leakage the best."

I wanted to know your opinion on Mauser seams , is it a steadfast rule or is there any controversy about it?

Best regards
