Funny thingI just found.. Google search does not seem to know about the blackthorne.
I found one PDF for a trip itinerarym but other than that, nothing.
I seached for "blackthorne" BLack thorne" and "blackthorne wreck" Still nothing. I wonder whats up with that??? Google usually knows all. Bow to the king google... Etc.

Ok thanks, that works much better God, look after the lost souls of that, and every other ship wreck.

Get rid of the 'e'. It's Blackthorn.

Check out http://www.uscg.mil/reservist/mag2000/mar2000/blackthorn.htm for some background on the ship.

Correct but for the record, even the USCG gets confused on her name: http://cgvi.uscg.mil/media/main.php?g2_view=keyalbum.KeywordAlbum&g2_keyword=RICHARD&g2_itemId=82111
They alternate on this page.

I do feel it's proper to ensure you respect the ship's name, especially when discussing a ship that sank with loss of life.

One of those anchors is mine. I went out there one time on my boat in 3-5 ft. seas and anchored up. We called the dive due to everyone getting sick from the rough water. I went to pull the anchor and couldn't get it up. Now I should have jumped in and got it but instead like a total dumb ***** i just cut the line. I'm still kicking myself for it. It was a good anchor. About a 20lb. navy style. It held the boat well. A little too well.

I was out fishing on Thursday and lost a 14# Delta Fast Set anchor and 200ft of anchor line around egmont key. :( That was an expensive oops.

We always remember to go back up teh anchor and take it from out under whatever it was under..yeah...You will not be getting our sweet anchor..

I always like my favorite anchor story. USNS tanker off Spain, let anchor down in 1000 ft of water, did not have the chain tied at the end, watched anchor chain go right on through the hog's nose and into the deep. It cost us tax payers $100,000 to replace. They did not even have a reason for dropping it. Now that would be a good anchor to find.
