I am going to Fiji in Novemember and staying in Nadi. I need some recommendations on local dive operations. I can't afford to travel to other islands for overnight stays at other resorts so day trips from Nadi is what I am looking for. Any recommendations on operators to use/avoid? Must do dives?

Thanks

Terry

can you afford to move down south to the Coral Coast instead of Nadi???

cheers

The travel and accomadations were bought as a gift for my 40th b-day and can't be changed as they are part of a package deal.

ahhhhhh - i will see if hubby kept details from our fiji trip a few years ago as we had to use a couple of nadi dive operators and if he has i will post them here

nice birthday pressie!!! enjoy!

thanks. any information is more than I have now.

Terry, although I did most of my diving in Fiji at Jean-Michel's resort (but stayed in a much cheaper $8/night hoptel in Savusavu), I did dive with an operation near the airport in Nadi. They were called InnerSpace. I believe they have been bought out by a larger company.

The dive operation was pretty basic, but I enjoyed the dives. The DM was the cousin of the DM I had at Cousteau.

Have you checked The Traveling Diver's Chapbook (UnderCurrents) for input?

Thanks Doc. I was SUPPOSED to get a copy of said Chapbook but Scubadiving magazine sent me some P>O>S map of the world instead. Any idea where I can aquire one?

Terry, you used to have to be a subscriber to UnderCurrents. I have a few older copies from the early 2000's and could take a peek at the ops they recommend if you'd like me to.

hi again, i just checked with hubby and a few years ago he dived with innerspace and was pretty happy

hope you have a great trip!

cheers

I know money is an issue, but try to find a way to take a bus down to Pacific Harbor and do the shark dive with Beqa Adventure Divers. A round trip trip on the Suva Express is about $32 US, the dive is a bit pricy at $90ish, and you could stay overnight in one of the dorm rooms at Tsulu or Pacific Safari Club for around $20. It really will be worth it.

Have a great trip.
