We had an awesome trip---11 days in Cozumel from Nov. 10-Nov.21. The weather was rainy off and on, but we still had some great diving and some beautiful sunny days. We dove with Living Underwater and stayed at Condumel. Here is a short report on both:
Living Underwater
We dove with Living Underwater, who we would highly recommend to anybody looking for a personalized dive experience. Jeremy came to our condo the night before we were to start diving to pick up our gear, get some background information on our diving experience, ask us what we wanted to see and where we wanted to go, and to let us know what would be happening the next day. Our gear was set up for us each morning and they took care of it all. Jeremy made a point each day to ask everyone each day where they wanted to go and would decide on our dives based on our wants. His crew is first rate and were right there with a towel and jacket when you get out of the water. They provide water, sodas, fruit, and snacks on the boat. They even have hot chocolate waiting for you on the boat after the night dive. On the days Jeremy didn't dive, Gustavo filled in...he was great as well. If we wanted to see sharks, they found us sharks. If we wanted to find sea horses, they found us sea horses. They can pretty much find you anything you want to see...ask Jeremy to find you a frog fish the next time you dive with him! Living Underwater has a really comfortable new boat, which can fit 8 divers and never seemed crowded. We will definitely dive with them again on our next dive trip.
Condumel
Condumel consists of 8 small, simple condos which are located at the beginning of the north hotel zone. They are perfect for couples. The kitchen is stocked with basic food products and beverages for your convenience and you pay for what you use. The prices are the same as what you would pay for in the store, so there's no point in not consuming what they supply. Products are re-stocked each day...it's nice knowing that when you get back from diving your fridge will be stocked with cold cervezas! There is a man-made beach right outside the ground floor condos, with a diving board and ladder for you to use for getting in and out of the water. The snorkeling right out front of the condo is awesome. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the beginning of town, which we did most everyday to help work off those cervezas. The maids are wonderful and do a thorough job of cleaning your condo each day. The woman who runs the condos, Sara, is great and will help you with whatever you need. This was our second trip to Cozumel and our second stay at Condumel. We love it there, and will stay there on our next visit as well.
