We just got back yesterday on a weekend run to the area.
Pulled in Friday in the early am, got a late start on Saturday to JB, we paid our 75 dollars for our entry fee, (x3) when we arrived at the site there were a large number of divers there, none of which had paid/signed in but that’s another story, geared up and hit the water.
Vis was 100+ in JB, flow was as usual, nothing special to report about the cave other than the massive amount of light we took in allowed me to see in full the shape of the cave, rather interesting in spots, and the air pockets on the ceiling reflected the light back down like a mirror making shimmering splashes of light on the rock below, I didn't take a camera in that cave just due to the pain of having to fight that flow, after doing a second dive in there I had a Co2 headache slap me upside the head, lots of flow with nothing to pull on.. :-( I did see a blind crayfish on that dive however! The cloud cover was thick that day so the cavern wasn’t as pretty as usual.
Next day we went up to cave adventures for some fills and a boat we had reserved and we hit the water, Captain James drove us out to the dock at Twin, where a group were getting ready to splash for full cave class, turns out they are out of Houston and know of the local hole Lake Travis  Anyway they were nice enough to let us share their line.
Entering Twin and keeping the vis perfect is tricky, you have to duck under a low opening and hover just above a silty floor that will jump up if you look at it funny, our second dive all 3 of us entered without disturbing anything.. SWEET! When we dropped out of the cavern zone and into the cave itself there was quite a bit of particulate in the water as you’ll see in the photo’s and video, it was causing a lot of scatter back with our lights that messed with the pictures but it wasn’t that bad during the dive it was still great vis compared to what we are used to but it did do a number on the pictures and vid’s, the class was up in a side tunnel doing lights out drills or something and got some silt going, they must have done ok because the vis wasn’t 0 and that is one silty cave.
Past the first jump to the right (not a T) the cave cleared up a bit, I was shocked to see catfish so far back up in the cave, crawfish too! The cave bottom was flat with a rounded ceiling and small enough that when you shine your light down the tunnel its ALL lit up but big enough that you can stay well off the floor and walls and just cruise, almost prefect shape/size, I spotted some fossils from time to time, this is going in my book as one of my favorite caves!
The cavern in this cave is very pretty but I can only imagine how bad it would be if an un trained diver entered without a line, low ceiling, wide, lots of silt on the floor, just a few feet in could get you in serious trouble.
When I take the pictures I really don’t look at the LCD, I pay attention to the cave itself and just randomly shoot pictures by holding the camera below me then I review them on the surface, out of 50 photo’s 1 or 2 may be ok but this way I can pay attention to the cave, lines, and enjoy my dive so don’t expect any Wes quality photo’s or video here  The video was shot with the digital camera on video mode, again the particulate in the water caused extreme light saber effect in the photo’s and video that was not as bad as real life, just one of those tricky photo things I guess.
