If we do the Huron first, should we meet at MM11? I am assuming that is where we will meet unless you say otherwise. I met with Skip Chappell, a diver that lives in Williamsburg, yesterday. We had a nice chat. We will be coming down from Williamsburg and will be at the meeting place between 9 and 9:30.

A lot of the posts are correct, the wrecks can be challenging at times, but they can also be a great dive if you get the good conditions. Larry and myself can help out with any questions also, but I can assure you are in good hands with Dr Steve.

I can't remember exactly where the parking is. But as I recall it is on Bladen Street which is between mile markers 11 and 12, so we should try and park in or around Bladen St:

When Chip got back he made a larceny report for his gear and I told the P.D. I would come down and testify. As far as the anchor thing goes, good idea but he was not anchored. I haven't heard if they caught up with the boat Capt. yet.

Other than the theft of the dive float. There were other maritime laws that were broken. Boating within 50 feet of a dive flag is illegal in North Carolina. In my opinion, that's too close.

...I was solo diving...

A quick aside (I don't want to hijack the thread). When I dove Triangle I was walking ahead of my dive buddy and the lifeguard asked me if I was diving alone. My buddy yelled no from behind me and then asked if solo diving was allowed and she said "not really" in a not too convincing way. No problem that time since I had a buddy, but is there a local law on solo diving in the OBX area? I'd just like to know for future reference. Thanks.

I would bet that there is not a law against solo diving. I am sure the life guards would rather you not dive solo. It is a much more risky thing to do than diving with a good buddy. I don't dive solo. I promised my wife I wouldn't, so I don't.

Based on the water temps at 10ft I think my 7mm is the right choice for the dive. I'll be bringing my hood as well.

No, there is not a local law here. The guards are just trying to look out for everyone and most of them have limited knowledge of diving.
