Of course the surcharges, since you'll most definitely blow your weight allowances out of the water, will cost you a pretty penny. Combine that with the hassle of lugging that stuff around, you might find it economical [when you add in the pain & suffering], to just contact your destination and see if they would have issue with you removing the valves off a couple of rental AL80s. Then just travel with bands and a manifold and build doubles out of rental tanks for your time away.

For a pony or deco bottle, it might make a little more sense, but if they have bottles available for that you can always just bring what you need to rig it to your preferred method.

Maybe I'm the last person in the western world to know this but I just found this on the TSA website. Like I want to travel from up north to say NC with my doubles or the Carib.
with my pony. Cool. http://www.tsa.gov/public/interapp/editorial/editorial_1190.xml
If you want to take your tanks, drive. Otherwise, ship them ahead or make arrangements to rent what you need at your destination.

You can't Carry on your speargun either. You wouldn't think people
would try that... but I guess they have to have a rule for people that do.

Spear guns are prohibited from carry-on luggage. These items should be packed in checked luggage.

No speargun but you can bring your sizzors and screwdrivers as carry-on. I have to check with my company about weight limits for employees regarding the tanks.:07:
