Why does a dive guide that I know in Bali, have us call him Ketut, but his Facebook name is Wisnu?
Ketut is a nickname of Balinese for son number four. So, there are tons of Ketut in Bali. You’ll also hear a lot of Wayan, Putu, Gede for son number one. Son number two is named Made, Kadek, or Nengah. Son number three is named Nyoman or Komang.

Where are you getting those numbers from Thailand? Are they deaths because certainly not cases.
I just typed "Thailand covid".
Those are cases not death.
Total death is 19,064.
Total cases is 1,903,165 ie.1%

13 Aug: 23,418
Between 17 Jul and 29 Oct the daily number rarely dropped below 8,000.

So how many are you hiding?
HK? ZERO.
It is still a open country. For a contagious disease like this there is no where to hide.
Can I say the same about USA?

I was referring to your country, not your city.

From COVID-19 Map - Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, here are some comparisons for today:
Indonesia: incidence rate 1,552 per 100,000 people

Thailand: incidence rate 2,727 per 100,000 people

Philippines: incidence rate 2540 per 100,000 people

United States: incidence rate 13,945 per 100,000 people

Singapore: incidence rate 3337 per 100,000 people

china is NOT my country! I do not give a F on them. LOL
We, Hong Kongers, have been a second class citizen since 26th June 1843.
BDTC, BNO passport under the British
Now it is HKSAR passport under the chinese. Not good enough for full chinese one!
Interestingly even some mainland chinese with good connection have been travelled with HKSAR passport eg. the stupid Meng Wanzhou instead of their own.

Thailand:
04 Jul: 5,517
14 Aug: 22,086
29 Oct: 8,936
The country is going to open to 46 countries in two days time. Only 1 day of quarantine is required as to wait for the result of the PCR test.

Indonesia:
10 Jun: 8,892
15 Jul: 56,757
29 Oct: 683!!!!!!

You can hide the number of the local cases but not when foreign tourists are involved. china is a prime example here.
This was in your previous comment: (About Thailand) And nearly 135,000 over last 2 wks.

My concern about returning to Indonesia, is that the surrounding Asean countries are still struggling, even Singapore, though they try and/or hope to open (Thailand and Cambodia) many, including Thailand are level four on the CDC list but Indonesia is at Level One? There's something very wrong with that.
Maybe nothing is wrong with the data from Indonesia. As Micheal Osterholm said many times: the one thing that this pandemic teaches us is Humility. It is hard to understand how this pandemic develops in different States in the US. Or the differences between countries in Europe. I live in Bitung at North Sulawesi. I do not have any reason to mistrust the official numbers here, which are almost zero for this city of 220.000 people. Apart from the fact that the numbers of test is far too low. But I also cannot see any reason why the numbers will not explode again before the end of January.

I can't like this post because of your last sentence. However, I do understand what you're saying and why.

I have regrets that I didn't make a better effort to get to Indonesia for the winter months and more.

Hopefully, next winter will be different.
