TrashFest '08 - Oct 4th

It is interesting that all these divers will come from Houston and DFW for the Comal cleanup, but won't go to Lake Travis for that clean up. Inquiring minds want to know; is it Saturday vs Sunday that makes the difference or is there another reason for choosing one over the other?

I can't speak for others but when I go to the Hill country to dive Travis or Aquarena or Comal, my diving is done on Saturday and *maybe* Sunday morning but I want to be on the road around noon. I want to get home in time to rinse and hang the gear, eat dinner, and relax a little without being up late.

Also, Trashfest is organized by TGCC which is based in Houston therefore Trashfest gets publicized better in Houston. LTUC is operated as one of many events under the umbrella of a larger organization "Keep Austin Beautiful" and is seen by many people I know as a "local" Austin event.

It is a Saturday vs Sunday thing for me. I would love to go to the LTUC but it is too far to drive home that evening. If it were on a Saturday, I wouldn't mind near as much driving from the DFW area to Austin.
