I was just reading up on how regulators work. Looking at the diagrams and explanations it occurred to me that it would be pretty interesting to see it in motion rather than (or in addition to) the static diagrams.
Does anyone know if there's any sort of transparent demo rig out there, something like ?
 
Not to my knowledge. But there are other options you may find interesting.
SP has several 3D animation videos. Below is one example.

@herman makes cutaway models (from the actual items) of several different first and second stages. Here is a MK10 with a light spring substituted in place of the heavy spring so the owner can manually move the components.

This is an example of a typical SP air barrel. It's easy to remove and install different poppet assemblies for comparison.

Atomic Aquatics made some transparent second stages. I have seen few. People selling them want a premium.
