I'm not suggesting anyone roll the dice. But let use a little bit on common sense. The hole shell is held on by 4 screws so your not going to get an explosion with lots of shrapnel. Just a tear. It'll be a pop for sure, but you dive with burst discs and are happy to have that risk?
I speak from 20 years as a materials engineers specialising in Non metallics as well as metallics.
But absolutely get them inspected. Sunnto are doing what every responsible manufacturer would do and that's recall them - rightly so.
The Product recall notice states there have been 2 yes 2 cases out of all the transmitters around.
As I stated in my first post mine will go in on Sunday - but it's still a Meh issue. there are worst things that could (and do) go wrong with transmitters. At least it's only the shell - if it were the inner workings that would be an issue
