No I don’t have great understanding of doubles so I was unsure of how to monitor both sides if transmitter fails
That’s alright, and as others said: learning is winning

I wanna say wait till you start the class and start from the ground up, but maybe I can cover this one quickly: there’s a manifold that bridges both tanks, so you get an even pressure between both, so you have one pressure reading
So only one spg or Tx is needed, and it doesn’t matter if it’s on the right or left post

So, you can run one pressure monitor on each, no Y splitter needed

After passing this class this past weekend I realize how stupid this question is. lol I just didn’t know

You know, I have to say this is a refreshing attitude, demonstrative of an open mind. I suspect your upcoming training will go well. Best of luck!

As member I quoted above said, your attitude is so refreshing.
Wish you all the best in your learning. BTW, there are no stupid questions, as long as you learn from the answers.

Congratulations on passing your Intro to Tec class! It's all fun from here on... ;)

All the advice given to you above is good; however, I would like to add that there is an option to use a transmitter. So, while it is very accurate, as one of our friends has said, "You only need one spg (or transmitter) on a set of doubles", it's not uncommon for those who use AI transmitters to use two pressure monitoring devices in tec diving.

Typically, you'd put a traditional "brass and glass" SPG on the left post and an AI transmitter on the right post. Some may only use an AI transmitter without a traditional SPG. There is considerable debate about these approaches, which I won't delve into here, but both are viable options.

Maybe you've already discussed this with your instructor, but just wanted to get this out there.

Hey, with Pete as your instructor I'm sure you got the straight scoop.

Curious; why are you calling this Tek3?

The Tek3 is the model of Apeks 1st stage OP was using.
