At what point in your education do you have to make a choice and stay with one agency?

If you're clicking with an instructor and really developing then stay put, otherwise try alternatives.

Being PDIC/NAUI/PADI/SSI for various and sundry reasons just happened.

I agree with the rest of the posts here.....Doesnt matter. IMHO, it could actually help you grow as a diver to experiance multiple differant agencys during your training progression. That way, if you ever decide to go pro, you can make an informed desicion(your own, not one based off someone elses opinion) as to which agency to proceed with.

To add to the initial posting, does any particular agency cary any more "Clout" than others? I guess what im asking is which agency offers the best OW and AOW course as far as knowledge and experience gained.

The clout that matters is your demonstrated skills, that speaks volumes. When anyone asks to see a card they are just seeking proof of attainment. If your real skill really matters to them you will be evaluated in the water.

In terms of which agency, published standards and actual execution vary so widely that it largely amounts to the instructor and what you put into it and maybe even demand.

Is there a advantage/disadvantage to sticking with one agency?
I am currently AOW certified Padi but was thinking of taking the Naui Rescue class as my lds is Naui.
