I stepped and stood on one in shallow water. It hit me twice before I realized what was going on and the third one got me to move. They were in pretty rapid succession and a little stronger each time. Even then, the third pulse wasn't all that bad. It just got my attention. I did see it and knew what it was since I had seen one before.
