You may not have known that the 60-acre peninsula above the quarry to the left of the dam where the Chinese Junk is has been in great jeopardy of development (there goes the viz, the view, nature). Well, Duke Power actually sold it to the State of SC this week!! It has been added to the Jocassee Gorges and will never be developed!! This is a HUGE thing. Now we can all still enjoy the beautiful, clean water :dancingsnoopy:

thank god, the vis at the junk is bad enough with all the roto-tilling students on it.

I know - but we all gotta learn sometime :blinking:. I'm still working on that, too. My buddy says I kick up my fair share of silt. It takes time to get proper buoyancy tweaked.

that is true. some divers never try to learn though. took about 25-30 dives before i got it down, still working on trim. think im just gonna go with a bp/w.

I switched from a jacket BC to a BP/W at the end of last season - definitely helps with the buoyancy, and it's nice to get rid of all that bulk all around you.

The best thing I ever did was demo a SSBP and Donut style wing! I love it and haven't put on my jacket BC since! Been horizontal with ease ever since!

Happy diving!

For me in a single wing, the donut or 360 has been best since I have no air trappage. On the doubles, I would prefer the horshoe, that way you can use the air to your advantage. OXYCHEK makes a great setup for a really good price. Welcome Both Jocasseegirl and Underseabumblebee use that wing. Barry from SALVO got me in his singles setup at a Demo last year and it went into my trunk and never came back to him! http://www.salvosupply.com/inc/sdetail/205 I love the freedom around my waist. Nice and tidy and no danglies! I would recommend the following manual if you get the BP/W. It is an essential guide to help you get your harness setup correctly and to assist you when you move to doubles etc.

Hi Carolyn! Good to see you dropping in on the Jocassee threads!

Jocasseegirl and I are actually diving a Golem stainless rig. Golem 35 Lbs SS Combo Deb has the 360/donut and I have the horseshoe. Both are 35LBS wings. It has been a pleasure to dive.

Sandman there are a lot of good bp/w choices out there whether you purchase online or from a local shop. Jeff aka xiSkiGuy from this board works at your local shop and could help you out if you want to purchase in town.

Golem, Deep Sea Supply, Salvo and many other offer good products online.
