ok... i just got a used DUI TLS350 (medium) and i have a TPS Thinsulate Extreme
undergarment.

wearing that, as opposed to my usual 3 mil farmer john (two-piece) and 3 mil
hood and vest, how much will my bouyancy change at the surface?

will i be more or less bouyant at the surface on the dry suit?

thanks in advance

Not that this will be much help . . . .

The dry suit is pretty darn near neutral. It is the thermals that make the change to positive. Not knowing what you are using (I use DUI 200 gram thinsulate), I can't say more than that.

Like I said, not that this will be much help.

I'll answer how mine worked out, and you can form your own conclusions...

With me wearing 23lbs of weight, I was about right at the surface, wearing a 7mm two piece Henderson hyperstretch...

I took off a pound or two when I went to a TLS350 with a softwear undergarment...300weight...I think I have 21 lbs on my weight belt...

Good luck!

thanks guys... i have a TPS Thinsulate Extreme jumpsuit; it's advertised at
200 weight

this is from the manufacturer's page:

[The Thinsulate Extreme] contains a 200g layer of Thinsulate insulation material which is sandwiched between a layer of double-sided polyester fleece and the nylon taffeta outer coating giving it a CLO rating of 2.4.

I was using an aluminum backplate with my cannister light and that was all when I was using fleece. When I went to 200 gram thinsulate, I added six pounds to my bottom bolt. I hope this narrows it down a little, but you are talking going from wet to dry here as well.
