It was labelled a "submersible", but here in Europe this kind of vessel is named a Bathyscaphe: Bathyscaphe

...I wasn't kidding, I'm asking. IIRC in the 80s you would see 'made in the USA' on some products. Haven't seen that in a long time, not that I remember anyway.
Ok this should be moved in the pub. Reagan didn't take down the wall. 70+ years of not being able to keep up with the West is what took down the wall.Who took the Berlin wall down? RR.
Nearly 90% of all German casualties during WW2 were inflicted on the Eastern Front. 9 out every 10 dead Germans were killed by the Soviets.Who took Berlin? My Russian wife's grandfather didn't see any Americans when he was there.
No argument, only clarification. Now I really don't get how did we get from a cheapskate, lying (ach sorry, only poor people are lying, he was "charismatic") CEO and his magicalthrash cansubmarinesubmersible to arguing who defeated Germans.
And on the Titan topic:

Agreed - tons of stuff is designed and engineered in the US. It’s, unfortunately, the manufacturing outsourcing that is a big problem and makes us vulnerable in many ways.I know I shouldn't feed the trolls but your original post insinuated that there was no need for engineers in the USA because nothing is "designed or manufactured" here. That's both wrong and rude. Just from my own experience as a design engineer, I worked for Jabra as a start-up in the US, which was then acquired by a Danish company, and for Ultimate Ears as a start-up in the US, which was then acquired by a Swiss company. All of the products for the first few years of these companies were designed in the US and some are still made here.
To imply that all the US now designs is defense-related from where you are sitting is tone deaf in the extreme.
