Methinks in the last two replies the word is "adapt" rather than "adopt" which in this case changes the meaning of the statement completely.

ROAKEY,

Very true. I was just quoting the previous statement.

Shoot... I'm with you on this one...

It really chaps my hide to have folks tell me that their gear is *DIVERITE!!!*....

So what does that say to all the rest of us... huh?!?

Is our gear *DIVEWRONG* just because we didn't buy into your stinkin' religious experience with *DIVERITE!!!* ???

I feel your pain man....
This just in. Not only do you DIVEWRONG, UP, but you're Technically Incorrect!

You really need to update your gear to include a slobwinder (on the isolation valve, the valve I find easiest to manipulate no less!) dual 100# lift wing, bungees, elephant-trunk-length inflator hose (times two!), metal-to-metal connections on your light and argon bottle, left handed-second stage, hoses sticking out, left-hand waist belt release (gotta keep that OMS logo upright!) SPG with boot, chest strap, and two D rings on each of your crossed-over, padded fastex-buckled straps.

Then, and only then can you be "Technically Correct"

I'll take Technically Incorrect, thank you.

I actually own a couple pieces of OMS gear. I have their bottom timer (which is Uwatec, I bought it because all stores here are massively backordered on the Uwatec labeled ones) and I have a pair of nice stainless shears. As for most of their stuff, no thanks.

Roak... isn't it interesting that those who rabidly oppose DIR because they feel the acronym implies that they are DIW can't see how ridiculous that is.

However the differing reactions to the market terms DIR, Diverite and Technically Correct is to be found not just in the equipment... but in the philosophies they embody. The later two pander to gear lust but do not prescribe a definitive way to use the gear. The former not only prescribes a gear configuration that is minimal but prescribes and proscribes diving & lifestyle practices... some of which poke certain folks square in the belly... literally and figuratively.

Instead of Scubapro how about Scubarookie.

What's wrong with a left-handed second stage?
