Tritonia diomedea has been seen from San Diego to the Far NoCal zones... but it's a special day when it's found at humble Veteran's Park in Redondo Beach.

It was a delightful night when Ken was able to shoot some portraits!

Behold, BOW ('Branch Of the Week) #594:
Opisthobranch of the Week is Tritonia diomedea

Congratulations, Ken!

It's a gorgeous photo of a nudibranch that has attracted extended scientific interest. Follow the links provided by the web-master, Michael Miller, to learn more about this mollusc's ability to orient itself with respect to strong surge, magnetic fields, and chemical sensors.

And we thought it was just a pretty slug

Congrats, Ken! Great shot of the pink gigantor! It is a privilege to dive with you both, especially in your respective abilities to seek out the tiniest (or in this case, not so tiny) and not obvious marinelife in the dive site and then capture them on film for posterity. Thanks for letting me be a part of your dives.

And I thought you and Ken were suggesting this nudie take a BOW cert class. Congrats on another interesting find and great photograph.
