The thing about touching the reef is that we are not part of that ecosystem. whatever happens to it by the inhabitant is uncontrollable. all we can do is control what impact we have. i dont mean to preach, but my wife teaches biology so its a topic close to our hearts.

Observation without interaction.

I agree wholeheartedly, touching the reef is a no-no.

I am in a bit of a quandry about interaction. Interacting, without damaging/injuring, seems to be ok. In its mildest form, I interacted with the Octopus in my videos. We spent 10 minutes looking at each other. It would peer around one side of the mound...then go around to the other and look at me. Are you suggesting that is a problem? Should this be (or maybe it has been) the subject of a different thread?
