Hi All,

There were 8 of us ready to dive 4 headed out first & one came back with a mask that was broken in the surf zone. Luckily Brian had a backup mask so he joined up with Erika, Robert & I. We get to the beach & Robert gets pommeled by the surf ( bad timing ) & gets pinballed off of me & another diver so we called the dive. Fun times. Oh & Robert is the sandman now.

John

P.S. Of the 3 divers that did make it on the way back one of them got fooled by lights some people had that were on the rocks. He's ok.

Sorry I didn't make this one. I take it there was high surf. The high tide was at 9:55pm, so anything after that time, may have been a good dive.

For the ones that made it out, how was it?

Rick

It was not all that bad... comical entries and exits but once we got out it was pretty cool. got to play with few rays saw the biggest sand bass and heard lots of white sea bass.
I think it was Bryan whos mask blew up... really it blew up when he was making his way out in the surf. Sam Tom and I ended up dropping together and Tom says lets stay together... Sam and I hit the bottom with no sight of Tom! We surfaced and still no Tom... Sam thanks for diving with me it was fun.

I did not do the night dive but i did get a day dive in before. Me, Sam and Alie headed out got past the waves no problemb. aw a nice swell shark and some nudibranchs. On the way back in the waves where not really that big but when the water would head back out it was strong and pulled me with it. Any how sam was the only one that had a gracefull exit out of the three of us. A wave came and went past me no prob but the force of it going back out pulled me down on to my belly and then i was going up with the surf, down with the surf, up with the surf down with the surf. Oh i got turtled quite a few times till the wave came bac. So Sam came over and offered me assistance. I told him to take my fins and in the mean time the wave rolled me back up the beach and i knocked sam over. so i have about 2 lbs of sand in my gear. Oh and Alie lost a fin in the surf. :) it was an adventrous dive. See you all tomarrow.

As for the night dive glad you all made it out ok. Cant belive what brians mask looked like.

Is that you Jeff?:D

I've tumbled before, and likely tumble again, but I have never had that much sand in my gear!!!

It was great to meet other BCs, and pick up a t-shirt (very nice!!)

So last night's tally for the group was: one fin, one mask, a book, a sore neck, and at least one bruised ego.

Note to self: use wet suit for beach dives.

Cheers!

Haha, yea. My mask got annihilated, but luckily two weeks earlier in Laguna I found one one the shore. I'll be there on saturday morning though.
