Spoke with a representative with NOAA the other day. They plan on having all of the buoys in the Sanctuary in place by Memorial Day!!! Woo Hoo!!!

They are also looking to make a couple of changes to thier website to make the site plans easier to find and in being able to see which wrecks are buoyed. Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary Home Page mess around with the map in the middle of the home page and see what they have so far!

Look here for a the plan for the Spangler to show you what they are trying to do. Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary - Kyle Spangler They eventualy want a site plan for every buoyed wreck which will make dive planning a dream!!

NOAA is working pretty hard on getting those deeper wrecks marked (Spangler, Windiate, etc. Presque Isle area) and are having to jump through a lot of hoops to even get them considered. They are pretty close to shipping lanes. I wish them luck!
