I fully agree, there are always two sides to a story, but as one of the divers who did dive on Saturday night, I have to admit that I was quite unhappy with the service received from both the shop (which, I acknowledge, I only heard about second hand) and the captain (which I witnessed first hand).
There are just so many unknowns in all of this, even those of you on the boat may have missed something. Did the Capt. allow the gentleman to come up to the helm? Many Capts. do not, if this was the case on this boat, especially if they weren't outside the bridge yet, then it was not the Capt. who was belligerent, as this would be tantamount to someone climbing in your lap as you drive down the interstate.

Group discounts are great, but they are given for a reason. A dive shop typically expects the group leader to handle the much of the paperwork and payment and expect the group to act as a cohesive unit. All this results in less work for the shop, which equals reduced costs allowing them to charge less. IMO, from the information in this thread and other sources, the group/group leader did not hold up their end of the bargain.

As I said, mistakes were made on both sides, cursing and confrontation are not acceptable actions in today's society. I think people should see as much of the truth as possible and it is not fair that those who made the first mistake come on here and attempt to harm this business.

Gator, what part of

DebbyDiver:
Can we simply LAY THIS TO REST

and

Can we PLEASE agree to disagree and let this topic die now?

did you not understand??

Debby - I don't know if "official thread closer" is a professional title or not.

The Cristal Clear Charter thread went on a lot longer than this one has so far and CCC came up smelling like a rose in the end after a phone to the right people was made.

I promise I won't post in this thread all day tomorrow :D

Brian, I have no right to close this thread; however, the hard feelings on all sides are just making me sick to my stomach.

Of COURSE the Cristal Clear thread went on longer...because Cristal Clear jumped right on the problem to try to resolve it. If LGD were doing the same, the outcome of this thread would be different.

We are comparing apples and oranges.

We dove the Lady Go Diver once last year. The shop was disorganized, the boat was overloaded by at least 5 divers, and the staff had bad attitudes. We won't be back.

Nothing is just going to close this conversation. If it upsets some people, stop reading it, but I think most are benefitting from learning about a poor operation. And, I don't think anyone is disagreeing with eachother. There are certain business ethics and a certain level of professionalism that was not met. Also, it seems like a trend from several people's past experience.

I wish the shop would jump in and defend themselves, but at this point, his bridge is quickly burning. People are making their own decisions based on what they are learning here.

Justin, I see your point but I feel we are simply beating a dead horse here and the negativity of it is really depressing. I think everyone made their points, and I just don't see anything "new" that anyone could add at this point; it's becoming redundant.

Again, I will admit that I have NO RIGHT to moderate this thread...but I am a peacemaking type and I'd just like to see everyone drop it and vote with their wallet.

I'd rather talk about diving...when do you want to do a night beach dive? :blinking:

OOOOOOOOH sure!!! Count me in!!!! :eyebrow:

I wrote that to Justin because it seems that no matter when I go and no matter what beach, there's his truck...I don't think that dude's gear is ever dry... :14:
