So happy that you guy's were able to dive San Miguel. Knowing how hard it is to make it out there with anything less then stellar conditions, you guys lucked out. #2 of the fish eating anemone is beautiful. The contrast of colors on the northern reefs are staggering. The 2nd shot of the Metridium & Cup corals is also really nice, very crisp. What depth were these found in at San Miguel?

Very cool that you were able to dive the USS Peacock  or as Patrick Smith corrected is actually the Spirit of America :D With all the visits Charlie and I have had at Scorpion Anchorage, we still haven't dove her. Does she lay between the pier and Scorpion Rock? or on the other side of Scorpion Rock "closer to Little Scorpion Anchorage?" I haven't been able to find any exact descriptions of her whereabouts.

I didn't get line ups, but I could see the pier and campground. It's outside Scorpion Rock, but it would take kayaks to reach it and gps coordinates. I was surprised at the amount of nudis for an island wreck. They are usually different than the local wrecks with metridiums and wolfeels. Most of the island wreck are somewhat boring compared to our local ones, but I could dive the Spirit of America many more times.

I always look forward to seeing your pictures. I wish I could dive as often as you get to.
I am thinking about going to San Miguel and Santa Rosa on the Conception this weekend. What was the water temp and visibility like? Thanks

The weather was better there than on the mainland, but we had strong surge and 5-15' vis at San Miguel/Santa Rosa. Vis at Santa Cruz was a much nicer 35'. Temps were 52-54F. At Santa Rosa, a crew member went in to check the anchor and said the current was ripping at 60'.

Was Tommy your captain. Phil?

Stunning photos!

Will you and Merry be joining us on June 2nd at Casino Point? The more the merrier...(punny huh). ;)
