Just make dam sure it doesn't slide around! That is if you want to keep the family jewels intact.

It can't slide around. It's trapped between the BP and (rear) D-ring tri-glide. There's nothing there but my lower spine.

Don't fall on your a**, if all your weight lands on that one little piece of lead, you'll be very sorry.

At times I have to cross a beach of slimy rocks, so I have taken a number of falls. So far so good, the tank on a BP with inflated wing has been a decent buffer so far.

I think that advocating unsafe and dangerous practices is both stupid and foolish. That is why I don't tell people to do what I do. Dsix36

In addition to my wing, lead is an excellent buffer; much more efficient than skin.

(I haven't started falling down yet, so I hadn't really considered this..... but I applaud your fortitude and, er, backbone)

It sounds similar to strapping a weight on the tank near the bottom.

Yes, or a weight belt, neither of which I want to do.

If it is comfortable, I don't see why not. But would a pair if heavier fins archive the same thing unless you already doing that.

Using Jets/spring straps or Power fins/spring straps.

Re "comfortable"; the weight is "invisible". The only other lead weight I use is a 1lb. "security" weight in the left tank band weight pouch (on the same plane as the waist strap)

There's been quite a bit of discussion on other threads about ditchable weight lately, which is the only potential issue I can see with weights threaded directly onto a harness(and no, I'm not going to offer an opinion about it).
