Yesterday during our regular morning charter off the Sea Fox, Drew Corley, the dive leader for the day, caught this short clip of a humpback whale underwater.

Island Divers Hawaii Dive Reports: After 3 and a half years...It finally happened.

We were tied up to the morning at the LCU and the whale was so close to the boat, slapping his tail 50 ft off the bow, that some busy body from shore actually reported that we were harassing whales. It was pretty funny actually, DLNR came down to the dock and ended up rolling their eyes when the officer found up we were tied up with the engine off. That was how close the whale was to the boat though. What a day for Drew!

very cool.....thanks for sharing.

That is awesome!! Would love to have that experience some day..

Wow, that is great!

My wife and I will on Maui and Big Island next month and always hope to have such a thing happen

Wow!! Just wow!!

Very cool video. It took us just over three years of constant diving to have our first whale experience. We had a whale breech right over us while we were 65' deep. The pod had a calf, mother and escort whale. The impact of the whale was unreal. It felt like a bus landed on us.
