I came across a case of 40 mm anti-aircraft in Newport, RI. There was a AAA school nearby. Single shells are not un common, but this was a whole case.

The case is mostly buried in the sand and the rust has mostly fused them together.A case was 4 clips of 4 rounds 16 to a case. Looks like you found a clip of 4. Cases were a common find back in the 1970's. The sand must have gotten moved uncovering those. What did you do with them? Those things are as stable as a broom stick. 40 years ago we would remove the bullet from the case and use the powder to start campfires. Wet wood no problem.![]()

One time I found a very nice dive light that another diver must've lost. Asked around after the dive, no one claimed it so I kept it.
