Hi all.

I have 2 nights (1.5 days in Manila) in 3 weeks time. I am heading to Truk & Palau:D
This will be my 3rd stopover in Manila.
Last 2 times i have stayed in Lotus Garden hotel in Makati.

hotel is ok and price is also ok $70.

Looking for alternative Hotel and should i stay in another part of town.
I have not seen much of manila, a few bars & Robertson shopping mall.

Are ther better regions to stay in manila (e.g Greenbelt )

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance

There are a bunch of hotels along Pasay Road in Makati (Greenbelt area). Larry stayed in one of them, which I can't recall the name...

Then there's also the Makati Avenue area....but I wouldn't reco that. It's a watered down version of Malate.

ditto. i think there are some near the area of pasay road near tesoro's (native goods/souvenir shop).

i think one of the hotels along pasay road is tower inn. small rooms but clean and comfy.
oh, if you see Roman Suites, it looks like a very nice hotel but i heard its actually is more than that.:eyebrow:

hhmm... looks like you're the one itching to go to the hotspots hehehe :eyebrow:

Mabini Mansion is in Ermita, near Luneta. Decent rooms (ask for the new remodeled rooms) moderate price. you can get a suite with small kitchen, for a resonable price. It includes a continental breakfast. P2500/night~ $63/night. About three blocks east and one block north of the US embassy. One block west of Rizal Park.

I just left Manila. If you want to meet friendly locals and take in some interesting culture, I suggest you go to a cock fight. This is where I found the most inviting people in all of the Philippines. Other than that the only place where locals wanted to talk to me was the casino. I had a great time at both of these places, and the cock fights weren't nearly as disturbing as I had thought they would be.
