Met up with David P., and Xray for a few dives at the Theo Baars (sp?) Bridge in Perdido Key. Water was a tad chilly at 58F, and viz varied from 7-20, with the better viz after dark. No surface current worth mentioning, but there was a mild current starting about 8 feet down, and continuing to the bottom. We did our debrief at Lillian's Pizza (yum!)

For the record it's Theo Barrs Bridge....Googled it!

Thanks for the report, and of course the fantastic pictures! Mrs. Fish and I sure miss diving with you guys! We'd be there if we shared your polar bear genes, but apparently we're tropical fish, because 58 is WAY colder than "a tad chilly" to our sensitive scales!

Thanks to you guys though, we can enjoy being warm and sipping coffee :coffee: while checking out the pics/vids of your icy escapades, and be really cold vicariously!

Hey, with all the crabs around, I would think there would have been at least one octopus sighting. Did you guys see any evidence of a healthy octopus population there?

Every nook, cranny, rock and spider-hole was occupied by something an octopus would enjoy eating, but we did not see a single cephalopod. Our best guess is that the water was not salty enough for any of our eight-armed friends :depressed:

I'm looking forward to getting you guys back in the water ;)

Good Pic's and it sounds like a good dive. I may have to do a night dive there or the Pass this week

Let me know if you are going to do a night dive this week, I'd love to hook up!

Great report, I never got around to diving the bridge, but it had been on my mind for several years. Sounds like its an OK dive!

Dig the photos!
