What kind of camera and equipment were you using? The pics look great!
 
My camera is an Olympus C-4000 in a PT-010 housing. No strobe, everything was on automatic for this picture. A little photoshop magic and the colors came out like it was when I was actually looking at the turtle.

Whoa! How did you manage that shot Alcina? I LOVE turtles and would die if I could get a pic like that so close. Even if I did get that close I would probably drop my camera or something Wow!

How to get close? Same as always...know thy subject, know thy gear, be patient, have excellent dive skills, let it come to you...take lots of pictures, do lots of dives, have tons of fun!
 
Great shots alcina!! Have you found that if you avoid eye contact with them when you first see them they are yours for the whole dive? If you do make eye contact, they consider it a threat and split. But if you try to ignore them initially it drives them crazy and they just have to figure out what you are doing.
