Lynnhaven Dive Center has rescheduled their New Years Day dive for this Saturday & changed the site to the Tug.:D:D
Much better than the Brass Spike. IMO
Plenty of room on the boat, so who is up for some fun.:eyebrow::eyebrow:

Howdy Rad

Scott from Lynnhaven gave me a call...same topic...but I'll be workin'. How was "The Houston"?

That could be it. I've never heard it called that, but from the description on their website it sure sounds like it.
Could be all a mute point, as the weather Gods are not playing nice.
SAT
NE WINDS 15 KT. SEAS 4 FT WITH A DOMINANT PERIOD OF 7 SECONDS.
Thats very iffy.

Boy that hurts!

Last time I dove with them the weather was not that good at the dock but we went out, It was very very wet all the way out.
I got down and did my thing (baged a few nice Blacks and headed back to the line). By the time I got out on the surface the seas were 4' + and just as I was on my last step I got hit with the mother of all waves from the back. Well.. I landed up on the deck and 6' from where I was just a minute before (speargun on one hand, fish bad on the other and there was blood and bleading fish all over the spectators. What a mess that was.
I soon found that most of the divers on that trip were beginers and most did not got in at all, only two got in the water and one lost the way to the boat, panic, dumped and was seen floating away from the boat at a good clip in high seas.

I din't know but someone was throwing life jackets in the water as to keep the same drift as the diver on the surface. By the time we pulled her out she was in bad shape but got better by the time we pulled in.

The point of the story..You just never know who you're diving with and when the weather is bad they should not get out.

Oh yea Spearo we knew it was going to be tough, Andy (Drewski) was my buddy on this dive & we knew we could handle it, but the rest of the divers were students, plus even though it was suppose to be 4 fters some of the fishermen already out were reporting minimum 6 fters.
Getting in is easy, but getting back in the boat is where the trick sets in.
