Wow, some pretty rough dive boat tip stories. I'm confident the shop owner where I dive in Coz doesn't skim the tips. The crew I'm sure has their spats, but they genuinely seem to care about each other. Most have been with the shop a long time (at least until this latest virus mess). I tip the DM and the Captain doesn't give me the evil eye or flip me off, so I guess they have it figured out. :)

I have taken $2.00 bills and had many tell me no, they didn't want to take them
Now that's news to me. I never spend them there, just use them in tipping.

If all you're going to tip is 20 or 50 pesos, just keep all of it in your pocket.
As compared to $2 bills USD? 40 MXN is a little less than $2 USD, $50 MXN is a little more, and you tell me to keep it? Maybe I should just stay home and ebay my dive gear.

Why? I haven't seen one in years.
That's why I like to use them, novel, but if $2 USD and $50 MXN are worthless like he said, maybe I should just go camping.

$5 tank tip is about 100 pesos. Is that unreasonable?
