As a European I find this fascinating. Our standard tanks are 232 bar/3364 psi with high pressure 300 bar/4351 psi! The standard tanks are commonly filled to 2900 which is the accepted minimum generally. You wouldn’t complain about that sort of fill. You’d never see a cold fill over the max working pressure and if out of test then no fill at all.
As compressors normally max out at 300bar you often end up with a bit less with the high pressure tanks but again that’s accepted. Some places won’t fill past 232 in any case.
What’s interesting is the different approaches, we expect and are happy with a fill slightly less than the max, whereas you guys want it over.
And why the different working pressures between US & Europe? Different regulations or different tank properties?
