Presently there are a few dive suit makers who make their entire suit of "Super Glide Skin" foam. Henderson's best suit as well as Bare's (div. of Suunto) best suit are made from this ultra stretchy rubber. Aside from the advantage of being able to gain weight and still fit in this suit, the fact that it stretches so much in any direction makes it very comfortable. Some makers use panels of this rubber to allow arm and leg movement with ease, but imagine wearing a suit that is made entirely of the new, stretchy rubber!

Is this a question, an advertisement, or an invitatoin to discuss this further? Or are you just trying to up your post count? This sure smacks of Henderson marketing.

I'd love to talk to some folks with real experience with the "hyperstretech" neoprene, because I've heard that isn't quite as warm, millimeter for millimeter.

pkmaven,

Henderson have been making their hyperstretch wetsuits for some time now, and a LOT of board members are already diving them.

Bare has a similar material called hydrostretch that has not been around as long.

Now if you want to talk about real new technology here is food for thought.

How about a Wetsuit that senses your body temperature and adjust its insulating abilities to keep you comfortable? If you are too warm, the material breaths and allows you to cool, too cold, the suit closes up the material and keeps you warm.

Sound too good to be true? If I had not read it a while back in a trade magazine, I would not have believed it. But it does exist, at least experimentally. Developed for the military the material is called Hydrogel. The links below are two articles about it.

I beleive that the Henderson Gold Core is warmer but does not stretch as far as the Hyperstretch.
