The Monterey Herald is taking a survey about whether Monastery Beach should be closed.
It's at the bottom left of http://www.montereyherald.com
Vote and vote now, I don't know how long it will be there.

I voted 'No' - the beach should stay accessible. Having said that, if there was a way to more effectively close the beach to swimmers/etc. without unduly impacting SCUBA diving there, I would be all for that.

Yeah, I chose my words poorly. What I was going for was, "people playing/etc. near or in the water.
