Also looks like the side of the river channel opposite of windy point will have a pretty big wall as on the windy point side you can see the topo lines stacked closely and on the otherside, its just a line.

Looks like a staight line crossing would be pushing 3000 feet not including the lay of the land.

So how many 'kick strokes' is that?

Well I just cut 6 X 5 foot PVC screws and cut notches in the top to secure the line.

If one of these is sunk every 50 feet that allows 300 feet of run and should make the line very secure.

and the good news, I think I"m starting with a head cold

I think it wouldn't be a horrible idea once you get your entire line layed across the riverbed to mark it at quarters: 1/4 of the way across, 1/2 way across, 3/4 way across. Using the initial tie off and finding the first 1/4 would give you a decent estimate as to how long the kick (or scooter) across should be given the same pace and adding on your descent time. Other than that, make sure to find a way to glue on the first arrow or two, and maybe double knot the hundreds so when you put in the line you have a cheat as to when you need to put on the arrows.

Better yet, maybe Way Stations every 500 hundred feet so we can freshen up a bit...refuel. :eyebrow: ;)

I hope this doesn't sound like a silly question but I am just a rec diver, DM Candidate, and have no experience with mixed gases, etc... so if we start off the platform at WP how much of the line can we see before we bust 130' and have to turn back... I have been following this thread with great interest and great envy in the abilities and skills all of you guys have... Your thoughts are greatly appreciated as we are planning a trip this weekend 9/22...

Thanks
