Well, crossing over the big bridge I could see that the water was milky. I knew vis was going to be bad.
A group of us walked to the water and debated whether to get in or not. I said what the heck, and got suited up. I was shooting a new diopter and wanted to at least try it out. I knew if it was too bad I could always get out.
I was the first one in the water. It was like diving in low fat milk. Okay, maybe not like low fat milk. It was more like skim milk. Vis was 3' - 4' at best.
I wanted to try the first shots with the diopter on some Bumble Bea Shrimp. I never did find any, but on the very first urchin that I turned over I found something better.
For the first time I found Squat Urchin Shrimp. Even better there wasn't just one on the urchin. There were four of them. All I can say is that I love the new diopter.
It is so easy to use. It flips into, and out of place for quick changes if you need it, or don't. I shot some really small nudis to compare to my other diopters. I also took a shot of a Lancer Dragonet without the diopter.

BHB wasn't quite as bad vis wise as the dives out of Jupiter, Saturday.
Dove with Scuba Works. We were scheduled for a 3 tanker. 1st dive to the "Hole in the Wall". After heading through the 9-14' swells at the inlet (excellent boatman-ship by our captain), we settled into 5-7' swells (tapering toward the noon hour to 3-5')
Hole in the Wall at 130' vis was a whopping 6-8' MAX! Our second dive in shallower water led to 0-5' vis max. Everyone decided to cancel dive number 3 (and Scuba Works stepped up and gave everyone a free dive next time we book... Cool kudos to Scuba World for that!)
Some of us were able to make the afternoon dive at BHB... Skim milk is a very good analogy!
KBeck had the camera for the dive. I don't have any pictures to show for the day. We did run across the nudibranch orgy during the dive! For me it was just a dive to show KBeck how to spot some of the sealife I've learned to spot in the past few weeks thanks to my BHB friends!
I showed her the first few nudis, Bumble bee shrimp and colonies of "super juvenile" Highhats... Getting some good pictures of these macros takes some time to learn the camera and shooting a few dozen in hopes to get a single shot.
We never made it under the bridge, but we had a lot of fun!

You are correct. I have made the corrections to my original post... I was a "follower" for the dive charter...

WOW Scott for bad viz you got great pics. Another shrimp I didn't know existed. I finally found the frogfish took 92 pics to be sure I got at least one!!! Color awful Edited in Photoshop.com but can't figure out how to post from there So next time better pics & now a new goal -that darn shrimp. You guys are killing me with these new creatures

Thanks Debby. I knew they were there, but had never seen them before. I was looking for Bumble Bee Shrimp to test the new diopter.
