Received this email yesterday.

I would like to take this opportunity to provide you with additional information regarding the County’s efforts to protect the marine environment in the waters surrounding the Blue Heron Boulevard Bridge.

In addition to the signage the County has installed advising that “the collection of tropical fish is prohibited”, the existing language in the County’s Parks Ordinance will be strengthened to include “possession” of tropical fish. This amended language should be coming to the County Commission for consideration in April and will allow the Sheriff’s Office to take a stronger stance even if they don’t actually witness the taking of tropical fish.

I hope this information is helpful and if I can be of further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact my office.

Sincerely,

Karen T. Marcus
County Commissioner

the bridge wasn't the best dive today.... but, it was a dive... I got in 66 minutes of bottom time... Viz was 5' (at most) and water temp got down to 64... 66 at the surface.. Brrr...

Well, Jammin' Beach Updates has a construction updates page now. The news of the 50' barrier is now posted.

I wanted to take more topside pics today for the site, but I had a small flood in the camera housing... My computer never got down to the lower 60's, but my body sure knew the temps were in the low 60s

Thanks for the update........figures we were planning on coming down and diving the bridge was one of the things on the must-do list :depressed:

Hmmm, there was never any water that entered the camera during my short dive yesterday, but my underwater camera has officially gone to that photography studio in the sky.

I'll be contacting SeaLife this week to ship it out to their techs and see whether they can breath life into the old girl...

Say it ain't so. You probably scared her when you put it in that murky cold water.
Well we will just have to watch more videos-right?

that really sucks, your pictures have always been impressive. What happened, did the o-ring fail or something else (last year, one of the screws securing the latch popped out on my DS 800, I got a drop or two of water in the housing but I was lucky and the camera was not damaged). If the techs can't save your DS 600, I just saw an ad in a scuba mag which indicates that SeaLife has introduced a new DS 1200. Think of what your photos will look like with all those extra mega-pixels!!!

I t hink your new website is wonderful. I especially love the fantastic shot you got of that eagle ray- full frontal! wooo! nice work. Keep it going!
