Hello,

Just a quick heya to introduce myself..my name is Scott, I got my padi ow card last month and am really excited..what a awesome sport, If i had known how very cool this was and how awesome the people in it are i would have done this 10 years ago, I am hooked!

So my timing is, as usual..impeckable. get certified in november and watch the thermometer drop...brrrrrr. but there is lots to read and plan for the up coming dive year...so many great lakes sites, where to begin..i guess local, st clair river then sanilac. I am going to vegas in jan and will be bringing my gear allong.

Anyway, I am making new friends with each turn in scuba...drop me a line friend say hello.

The adventure begins, where will it take me? I cant wait to find out.

Scott

Welcome to the wrecking crew, watch out, this "sport" is a powerful addiction. I think you'll find plenty of diving in the Great Lakes, and like Oldpirate said think dry suit.

Welcome to the Wrecking Crew! Here you will find a great group of divers. I have only had the pleasure to dive with the crew once, but it won't be the last! Living in the Great Lakes you have plenty of diving choices and they all are great! Gilboa is a good place to meet and greet, along with gaining experience and copying ideas from others.

Welcome to the crew! Come to Gilboa and join us for the New Year's Day dive--we do have wet divers who join us and we're full of tricks for staying comfortable for at least one dive.

As previously mentioned, think drysuit. Better yet, a drysuit and a drysuit course as you are rather new. Then get yourself into an ice diving class. Really cool man. Ha. It will help get you through the winter, expand your skill base and lead to more potential dive buddies. Always a good thing. I've been certified for 28 years now. Still think its a blast and theres always something new to learn. Have fun with it. Keep active and dive safe!

What for?

Comfortably extending your season. I did a shore dive in Lake Michigan on wednesday. I spent an hour in 34F degree water. Not a doable thing in a wet suit, imho.
