I received my 3mm suit yesterday, which I'll be using in a few weeks on vacation. It fits fine but has a very powerful rubbery/plastic smell to it. Will this fade by leaving it out in the open? Or should I hose it down it a few times over?

Phil

Hosing is not likely to help much. It's mainly the out gassing of the rubber and cements. If you keep in out of confined places (like plastic bags) and dive it a lot it will clear up just fine.

I've heard stories about peeing in the suit. I look forward to it.

Thanks.

I think I visit the dive shop just to take in that great neoprene smell, ahhhhhh.

"Do you smell that? It's neoprene, son. Nothing else on the world smells like that. I love the smell of neoprene in the morning."

They are NOT a wetsuit till they've been pee'd in....break it in early...

You will miss that new neoprene smell once it is replaced by the old neoprene smell.
