what kind of insect is vegemite? :D
imagine it's bottled like jam
looks like the kulangot/kalamay stuff that you buy in baguio or coco jam only darker
spreads like peanut butter
and tastes like soy sauce (and not the japanese kikoman stuff... i mean the datu puti stuff that jai sells)

and these aussies i swear! spreading it on bread like it was gold and loving every moment of it...

I still remember when my little cousins visited me in Montreal during winter, I introduced them to Maple syrup on chicken wings, bacon, ice cream... - they now love the stuff!
as weird as it may sound, maple syrup on dry fried items is good because the sweetness accentuates the texture and taste of the fried item

so on chicken, bacon, porkchops, or churros it would taste great... but again, not a major culinary, gourmet or gastronomic feat... it's the equiv of pouring bottled sweet and sour sauce on your chops...

but mike, you must try sisig... your first platter is on ME

saw the kraft version of it. worse than balut? :D
well i haven't eaten balut myself but have sipped the "soup" off the egg... and yes, much worse than balut

i've tried vegemite a couple of times... i figured: a whole continent eating this stuff couldn't all possibly be wrong right? wrong.

now i have to go back and figure out what sisig is....
the technical description is the least appetizing thing on the planet... but in actuality: perfect with a cold beer or with rice or with a cocktail or when you're hungry or or or... it just rocks... ask larry

so, you really want to know?
