I have finally purchased my first set of gear, based in large upon advice and reviews made by other members of this board.

Apeks atx 50/40 octo
Sea-quest pro qd +SL
Al 80 tank
Mares 2 guage console (pressure and depth)
Henderson hyperstretch 7/5 mm wetsuit, 5mm hood, 5mm gloves
and all of the little accessories that make diving so much fun.

So thanks to everyone who wrote reviews of these products and set me advice. I will post a complete review of this equipment in the near future. After I have put the gear through it's paces.

I think you may find the 5mm gloves hard to use. Some gloves are 5mm but with 3mm fingers for the index and thumb.

Al 80 tank with 7mm wetsuit is a good combination. You paid very good attention to the ditchable weight debate.

I presume your Mares 2 gauge console is an SPG and what? Dive computer? Depth gauge? The digital depth gauges are best, rather than the analog.

Apex regs are getting great reviews. They used to make regs for Zeagle, but then split ways. Apex is a very reliable, easy to maintain brand of reg.

Next on the horizon you can dream about:
