Title pretty much sums it up. I cannot keep the catheter in place.
I can put the catheter on no problem, wide-band or otherwise, extra adhesive or not, and after a couple hours, size up or size down, adhesive in the cup, adhesive all along the shaft, primer or no primer, alcohol prep or none. Goes on every time.
However, once the catheter is rolled on its only a matter of time before my buddy goes full turtle and eventually rolls himself right out of the catheter.
Anyone have similar issues and how did you solve them?
Thanks for your input.
I’ve found that it’s always happening when I’m getting ready for the dive, with all the bending, squatting, twisting, etc. It could be 65 degrees out like today, or 90 like when I was out in November. No matter how good the prep, adhesive, seal, all that, it just won’t stay on once I start getting ready to jump in.I get the turtle with 1 hr dives in 72F Florida springs. I don’t think it’s necessarily caused by cold. Cool-ish water over an hour is enough.
The routing of the hose may be a factor, too, for those of us having this difficulty. I switched from an upward-then-downward U-shaped routing to a fairly straight downward-to-the-valve routing and believe that improved security.I’ve found that it’s always happening when I’m getting ready for the dive, with all the bending, squatting, twisting, etc. It could be 65 degrees out like today, or 90 like when I was out in November.
