Just in case you decide to buy Apeks, they seem to have mis-assembled 2nds out of their doors.
You'll see in their top page "Limited recall of Apeks TX, ATX and XTX 2nd Stages." Follow the link for details.
(I wanted to post a link, but I'm still not link-worthy says the system)

Don't mean to discourage Apeks; I'm waiting for my XTX200 to arrive!
To the OP, I'm an Apeks XTX100 owner a few times over. Rather than repeat a previous post, I'll link to another post of mine outlining this problem. Part #5 is a circular diaphragm was missing in some second stages (part #6 is the actual diaphragm itself). Not to give Apeks a pass in any way on this, but I would hope everyone's LDS or internet dealer would give regs a good once-over (like mine did) before they went out the door.

As I said earlier, I have an investment in Apeks and its just easier to have all my regs be made by the same company when it comes to servicing, parts, etc. But if I were starting all over again, in addition to the Apeks XTX100/200 I would seriously consider the Scubapro MK17/G250V.

superior breathing at depths exceeding 100' ? any specific characteristics?

or is it a logistical thing? (ease of servicing etc.)

I own a Titan LX Supreme , its enviromentaly sealed with a long history of quality. What are some of its deficiencies in the "tech" department?

thx

Salvos and SP are looking like the headliner to me right now...I was leaning for Diverite, but I can't seem to dig up much information on them.

Hi Cheetah,

Dive Rite has three different regulators, The RG3000, Hurricane and Jetstream DR.

You can read independent reviews of the regulators here:
http://www.diverite.com/downloads/diverite_10.pdf
http://www.diverite.com/downloads/diverite_118.pdf

May I also suggest you check out our Solution Finder, under the question 'What to look for in a tech regulator' as this might help you make a better decision about what you need in terms of performance.

If you have any specific questions about any of the regs do let us know.

Best,
Ag

For someone who knows the Salvo lineup, what differences are there between the SR2 and SR3 first stages? They basically have identical descriptions on Salvo's site, they just look different...

I dive the SR3 with the SRX second stage, it has been a nice little reg, although I only have a hand full of dives on it, it breaths great. I think the SR2 is set up more for a stage bottle, and the sr3 more for a back gas reg. Hope this helps some.

I emailed Salvo to ask the difference between the SR2 and SR3, they said internally they're identical, the only differences are the number and placement of ports and the SR2 has the rotating turret.
