on v38 it certainly has the same gas switching options as the Perdix but IIRC the Petrel defaults to the "old style" of gas switching. Super easy to change in the menu's.
And, I did that, quite some time ago.

The operation is identical. I recall the the display is not. But I will try to remember to check tomorrow.
That’s not true anymore...If you want to get into a Shearwater, I've got a Predator I'm selling. And the screen is generally regarded as the best looking of all of the Shearwater screens.

Actually, it is VERY readable - better display than my Perdix - especially if viewing off axis (as you commonly will):Oh, the computer that is too small for old people to read and nobody can seem to get ahold of...got it.
