Shearwater has been naughty lately. It cannot fix some issues with Petrel 2 computers--parts are no longer available. Shearwater also suspended Petrel 3 production and sales due to quality issues. NERD2 has had some issues as well. Therefore, if i had to get a Shearwater computer, I'd probably get a Teric. But why?
There are better backup computer choices out there. Petrel 1 is a dinosaur. How do you plan to get any support? I am seriously thinking about Garmin or Divesoft offerings for my backups.
