MA prices are always higher than average.....

tank rental-$20 (steel or aluminum, any size) at the most expensive LDS, about $15 most other places

air-$8-$10

Most people I know who dive with any regularity buy their own tanks pretty quickly!

My local LDS (located in Quebec City) is renting tank for 10$ and the fill for any size tank is also 10$. I own two tank and I know that, at that price, I'm not gonna win, but hey, he rents mostly alu and I have 2 steels :)

$17 tank rental and $8 air fill.

We are also the only dive shop in the area for 30-40 miles...

Central Tx

$20-$25 tank rentals, steels being 25. I guess yearly hydrotesting here pushes up prices.

Fills: $8-$10, or $62 for 10 fill card

If you're diving on your own you buy your own tank pretty quick. Boat dives have tanks included in the price, which is 80% of the dives anyways.

Our local quarry charges 15 bucks for the rental of an AL80 and that includes unlimited air for the day. Its actually a pretty good deal considering they charge 8 bucks for an air fill on personal tanks. I actually rent the tanks with unlimited air quite often despite owning my own fleet of tanks when I dive there. Anything over 2 dives is a savings and I usually do a minimum of 4 dives when there.

I think a cylinder rents for $10 a day including the fill you leave with.

I'm at $3.50 for a fill on a 50 fill card. Fortunately my wife and I both work near the shop so mileage isn't an issue. With 12+ cylinders we can usually hold it to one round a week so the nuisance factor is low even dropping off and retrieving a day or 2 latter.

All told it's hard to justify thinking about a compressor.

Southern Maine.
