I've only been diving for about a year, so please be gentle. I have what may be a stupid question.

If I have a Worthington LP108 (2400+ rated), and the dive shop overfills (accidental or intentional, doesn't matter) to 3000 psi, how many cu ft of air do I have? I've been told anything from 108 - 130.

Is there a formula?

3000/(2400+240) * 108 cf = 123 cf

here's a good reference for cylinder values

http://www.tdl.divebiz.net/pub/tanks.html

you'll see that a worthing LP108 has 108 cubic feet when filled to 2400 + 10% = 2400 + 240 = 2640 psi

the basic equation is:

108cf/2640 psi = x cf/3000 psi

solve for x
