Thanks, I appreciate that, I have loved sharks ever since my first freedive trip w/ a camera to take pictures of my cousins while spearfishing. Thats the one where the 5 foot galyopogos (sp?) was attacking the line behind us. He really didn't like that line for some reason, but after that (1999) I was dead set on 2 things, I needed to learn scuba and I needed a bigger camera than a reefmaster. Since then I have made travel a top priority, and have been lucky enough to observe these magnificent creatures on many occaisions. I really do think they get a bad rep from all the negative press, but what you have to remember is this, they are THE apex predator in their environment and they need to be respected as such, we do more harm to them as a species then they ever will do to us. My wife however, just thinks I'm nutz.

I have never seen a hammerhead though, so I guess I'll just have to keep looking.

I wonder if there are any sharks in the vicinity when we tooth dive in Venice. Walter, Reefguy, what do you guys think?

Goose: Your pic shows how good their countershading is. It's the same exact color as the water!

There were plenty of them around but I only saw a couple. Despite their size they were easy to miss.
