Suunto Gekko - Dive Download ????

Hey guys, sorry to revive this thread again. I cant get this working with a Suunto Vyper Air, I've downloaded to g-to-v converter, though when I run it I keep getting "com port not found" any help would be appreciated.

You don't need this tool with a Vyper Air. The Vyper Air can download straight out of the box.

I bought the Suunto cable, and IIRC, there's a trick to installing the drivers. I downloaded these instructions: http://www.smartinterface.de/downloads/BdaSmartinterfaceUsb_usa.pdf

Did you install the CustomIdea cable drivers?

Also, what's not working? downloading from the Vyper Air or using the Gekko2Vyper tool? you do not need the tool as you already have a Vyper.

When you change the computer to PC_SET mode (Or whatever it is) did you press the mode key to activate it?

Seems to be my computer wont recognise the cable as a "suunto compatible cable". Yes I've downloaded thier own drivers, and spent 2days trying to get it working. SDM when it tries to download my dives, comes up with device not found

To me it sounds like you are not activating the download mode on the computer. Also another thing to check would be to make sure the pins are clean and dry.

Have you got any friends with a Suunto computer/cable that you could try with?

that activates automatically bud, and shows on the comp by saying "transferring data", but on the computer, it says "hardware not found" (or device)

Are you using Vista 64bit or Windows7 64bit by any chance?
